Café Bar

A public house for almost 200 years, the bar at the morecambe hotel offers a friendly pub style welcome.

The full cafe and bar range is chosen for quality, exclusivity and appeal by licensees Dan and Amy Winward. Drinks are served from an impressive bar recreated to the original dimensions in solid oak and slate.

Bar seating is on comfortable, leather, button-backed sofas and aside these are drinks tables. The area features an exposed stone wall that was part of the original stable block of this Grade II listed property.

Alcoholic drinks

Alongside premium Spanish larger we provide an excellent selection of local and UK brewed bitters, cask ales, craft ales, refreshing ciders, carefully selected wines and a tempting range of stronger spirits. Read more on our drink brands.

For special celebrations, we keep Champagne on ice, and our cocktail waiter can create a drink to your favourite recipe.

Bar snacks

Phil, our chef, has developed a tempting range of bar snacks that are sure to appeal.

Freshly ground coffee

Our coffee beans are provided by a renowned local roasting house, Atkinsons of Lancaster. We freshly grind beans for each order to ensure maximum flavour and aroma, then a professionally trained Barista diligently creates a perfect cup of Atkinson's coffee to a prescribed technique, and present it in the style you prefer Read more.

Dog friendly

Well behaved dogs are welcome within the bar area and may also be taken through to the patio. If you've been walking the Prom then ask for a fresh water bowl when you order.

Did you know the bar is thought to have been the stables area of the original coaching inn. Marks found during the 2014/2015 renovation on the original ceiling beams may even have resulted from the very large coaching horses having a little nibble!

The large garden is fully enclosed by the original stone walls, wicker fencing panels and planted trees. The ramp access to the patio provides access for wheelchair users and families with pushchairs.

An extensive natural stone patio features wooden garden benches and comfy rattan chairs. The patio gives way to an extensive grass lawn, into which is set a rubberised play area with a multi-level children's adventure play area with slide.

There is independent access from either the restaurant area and bar, upstairs private function room and the Snug.

A sheltered sun trap, the garden is a natural draw on fine days but we have planted shade trees too for those who prefer to keep out of the sunshine.

The aspect from the hotel is of the extensive green lawn and of curved, natural stone walls, glass safety railings and the play area.

We also have feature areas such as a water feature within a heather rockery and a small coppice of white barked, snow queen birch trees.
