Holgate Bridge is a family run guest house which offers charming accommodation and a hearty breakfast, in order for you to make the most of your visit to one of the Europe's premier tourist destinations. This Grade 2 listed town house built in1846 is a 15 minute walk from the heart of York’s city centre and 10 minutes walk from both the York Railway Station and the York Racecourse. Holgate Bridge also has a large cycle storage facility and is a popular place to stay for those attempting the 'Way of the Roses' coast-to-coast cycle route.

 

It is ideally located and within walking distance all of York’s main attractions, the closest being the fabulous National Railway Museum. Other attractions include: York Minster; the City Walls; The Jorvik Viking Centre; The Shambles; York Castle Museum and the Yorkshire Museum, to name but a few.

 

Having a large secure, free car park means Holgate Bridge can also be an ideal base for visiting some of great places further afield that Yorkshire has to offer. The Yorkshire Dales, thefurther afield that Yorkshire Moors and Castle Howard are all within easy reach. Fountains Abbey and the rugged Yorkshire Coast are within an hours drive too.

At Holgate Bridge all our rooms are different and we specialise in catering for the family.

 

Our largest room is an apartment that can sleep up to 5 people and offers a lounge and kitchen area with a large LCD Freeview TV for family viewing.

 

We have a further selection of rooms that will sleep up to 4 people, down to a single room that is ideal for the budget traveller.

 

Each room comes with flatscreen Freeview TV, has access to free high-speed wifi. and a well stocked, complimentary tray.

 

Complimentary maps and guides are also available.

“Good location, near to city cente”

Lovely and friendly people. Good location, only 10 mins walk into York. Breakfast was good plenty of choice, cereal, juices and a cooked breakfast. We had downstairs bedroom, which was very nice, big & clean. Only bad points were we had several spiders and lots of woodlice with being in basement, en-suit was very small, no room to move, also...

 

“Very convenient for visiting the city centre and good value for money.”

We had a ground floor room and found it very comfortable. The ensuite shower room was spotlessly clean. Having a large car park and Wifi were real bonuses. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful...

 

“Nice hotel near to Henry VII Experience”

I stayed here with my sister for four nights and enjoyed it. It's close to the station, about a 15 min walk and also close to the Henry VII Gate to get on the Wall or visit the museum if you like history. The staff was very nice, I slept well, which doesn't always happen and it's a good base...

 

“just the job”

Arrived and had an upgrade when we told them it was our honeymoon.Room was very nice ,lots of space large bathroom with walk in shower. only downside it was three floors up! .Bed was extremely comfortable breakfast was a large selection of cerials ,fresh fruit, continental or full English . The main city was only a short 10 minute walk...

This is our 6th visit to this Hotel which is excellent value for money with good food and pleasant, friendly staff. It is situated just outside of the City Walls, is within easy reach of all the main York City attractions, and has its own car park.

Great people and friendly nothing to much trouble. We went into the basement room and loved it plenty of room shower a toilet and straight up to the dining room for breakfast of which you were served by three staff of which you had a choice of what ever you wanted for breakfast and served very promptly and pleasantly. We had two nights b+b ay the Holgate bridge. Just 15 mins walk to town centre, and 10 mins walk to railway museum, a good place to stay to see York. The staff were friendly, ,and the breakfast were very good .We enjoyed our stay.
