Mill View Barns | Bishop Monkton

Mill View Barns are a haven for cyclists being actually on the Way of the Roses route, roughly half way. They accommodate groups up to eight or nine with a sofa bed, and provide integrated secure bike storage. After a long day’s ride on the route our barns are perfectly placed and offer a flexible and spacious alternative to the traditional B&B or typical self-catering accommodation. They are self-contained and food is provided for a DIY breakfast, plus some tasty home baking.

Through the village of Bishop Monkton you will find our two barns nestled in peaceful surroundings in harmony with nature. They have been thoughtfully designed and recently built, clad in green oak so sit well in their rural landscape providing cyclists, ramblers and all countryside lovers the opportunity to enjoy a touch of luxury in a beautiful Yorkshire location.

In the heart of the barns you will be greeted by our stunning glazed gable end views with a contemporary open plan sitting, dining and simple kitchen area. Each barn has two bedrooms that may be made up as two super king or twin bedded rooms (made up to your requirements), luxurious bathrooms with walk in shower and Evo baths (that stay warmer for longer) and a room dedicated to the secure storage of up to four cycles, drying of outside clothes and walking boots.

Our large living area enjoys glazed gable end views and for that extra touch of luxury we have underfloor heating throughout.

“Perfect stop on the Way of the Roses route”

We stopped here on the last weekend in July doing the WotR from Morecambe to Bridlington. If you're doing the route in two days the location is perfect as you'll have had a long, tough day in the saddle but a flat and relatively easy one ahead of you. The accommodation itself is spot-on. Really well thought out; wet room.

“Perfect option”

The accommodation is beautiful and spacious with everything we could possibly have needed. If you are planning a cycling holiday then this is the perfect option with wall-mounted bike storage. The village of Bishop Monkton is also very lovely. Highly recommended

“Way of the Roses 82 miles in after the worst of the hills”

Stayed here overnight whilst doing The Way of The Roses cycle route. Absolutely spot on accommodation - on route - secure room for bikes - very clean - owner was very helpful. Would highly recommend staying here. Tray bake left for us upon arrival and continental breakfast provided with lots of fresh fruit. All bedding, linen and toiletries provided.

“A great base for cyclists”

We stayed here for a long weekend, using it as a base for us Fenland folk to have a go at some proper hills. There certainly are some tough climbs not too far away. My legs still hurt from Rosedale chimney. The four of us occupied one of the two dwellings. There was plenty of space including a purpose built bike store.

“Perfect setting”

We had such a lovely stay in the most perfect setting. The home baking on arrival was delicious and the Neal’s Yard toiletries were a luxurious touch. We will definitely return.

“Stunning accommodation”

So impressed with Mill View Barns. The accommodation is stunning and I am sure it will prove popular with both cyclists and non – cyclists.
