Toft Gate Barn Café is a popular stop off for walkers, cyclists and locals in the area. Located in a stunning converted barn that offers amazing views over the Yorkshire Dales, it's an atmospheric venue that hosts regular nights as well as its daytime cafe. Last year, they had Carol Ann Duffy amongst other poets over for an evening!
This Café has a concise and simple menu, but you can rest assured that everything they do serve is delicious. The cooked breakfasts are fantastic - served until 11am but sometimes they'll squeeze you in later. They also have a delicious selection of cakes.
Open 10am - 4pm midweek

“Delicious homemade goodies”
This place is well worth a visit. Delicious home made scones, cakes, quiches & lovely sandwiches. Fantastic views and tastefully decorated. Lovely staff. It's very close to the coldstones cuts sculpture park to combine with a walk. Highly recommend.
We call in Toft Gate cafe so regularly! Their range of meals, cakes etc is mouth watering and even better, home made. We love the atmosphere and admire the way the whole family are involved to make it the success it is. The barn has been created using creative flair, there is a five barred gate suspended from the ceiling! Lighting is used in a clever way. We sometimes sit out and look out over the wonderful view of Nidderdale, a great place.
“Toft Gate Barn Café”
Called at this wonderful cafe for lunch. Greated by a very warm welcome and a fantastic view. All staff were friendly. Meals we had were lovely and the cake was fantastic all good value for money. Can't wait to visit again.
“Brilliant independent cafe!”
Dropped in here for a quick coffee when passing, a great find. So good to see an independently owned cafe doing well away from the main towns - a breath of fresh air after Costa/Starbucks/Nero. Caroline and her team don't put a foot wrong here. Thank you.
“What a fantastic cafe!”
This has to be one of the best cafes in the county! Spectacular location, amazing cake selection and warm and friendly staff! We love it! We called in today before heading off for a 12 mile walk in nidderdale and again were spoilt for choice with the wonderful offer of goodies! Finally, we chose the gorgeous mint chocolate aero cake and the deliciously light and tasty lemon cake and enjoyed every mouthful as we gazed over the cloudy ,moorland scenery. Will be back soon!
