The Water Rat aims to offer locally sourced, home cooked foods. Using many local suppliers and for instance, our beef is Swinton Park reared and hung for a minimum 35 days. We also try to offer good vegetarian options with 'specials' as well.  We have a passion for quality here at The Water Rat where we love our locally sourced cask ales. Roosters of Knaresborough, Hambleton Ales or Melmerby + Rudgate Brewery of Topcliffe, for instance, are often found alongside the Black Sheep as one of our four cask ales.  We like to be a place to socialise whether it be with a pint at the bar, a glass of wine with the girls, or a party; you'll get a warm welcome and feel comfortable in our surroundings.
